Guide to Prayer

Reverence (Upward)

"Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name..."
God is worthy to be sought! Prayer starts with God. Let the conversation begin with Him, as you worship and praise Him for His different attributes. Don't begin with asking. Just seek His face for who He is.

Response (Downward)

"...Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
This is the idea of surrendering to the will of God. Listen to what God is saying. Respond to Him in light of His attributes or things He may be saying to you. You won't truly know what to ask for, until you first worship well and surrender completely.

Requests (Inward)

"Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors."
Offer up your requests to God for matters you are facing. Most all requests will concern resources or relationship needs. Ask God for strength, grace, provision, patience, etc for whatever situation you are facing.

Readiness (Outward)

"And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
You can't just pray all day, you must move forward in obedience to the will of God. This is the idea of preparing your mind for the battle each day and allowing God's promises and truth to guide us as we go throughout our day.
